I'm working on something which led me to read about the exorcism of Annelise Michel. That in turn made me want to ask y'all: what's the creepiest and strangest possession/exorcism story you've ever come across?
There was actually a supposedly documented case of demonic possession in the town where I live back in the 1960s. My grandmother remembers it and used to tell me stories about it when I was a kid. There was a young boy, last name Callahan, who lived with his grandparents. The boy started exhibiting odd behavior, and rumors started flying around about objects moving on their own, plates flying across the room, that sort of thing. It became this big ordeal, people would actually go to their house to see it for themselves. My grandmother even went once, with ladies from her work, and swears she saw it happen.
They eventually called in paranormal investigators and they believed it to first be a poltergeist, but then started to believe it was a demonic possession. I don't know if it was ever resolved, only that the family eventually moved away all together.

In the last year of my study I took a course about Buddhist Chinese, mostly centering on Tibetan-Chinese literature. We were mostly talking about dharanis (spells) and exorcism practices.
One day we had a renowned expert there who spoke of his field studies. One such study was taken in Tibet, somewhen in the 1990s. A girl was deemed posessed, she was somehow sigh, didn't react anymore. The usual exorcism over there is getting the ghost out, scaring it with the hundred demon army general and then putting it into a clay vessel which is then destroyed and the spirit with it. However, getting the ghost out varies. In this case the girl was painted with colors and pollen, then needles were stuck through her, then she was raped mutiple times.
Yeah that was surely going to help her... but apparently that wasn't totally uncommon in that area in that time :( When I continued my studies later I found one or two mentions of similar exorcisms in China proper, but those were
