Someone mentioned a couple of days ago that as a new Zach fan they wished someone would make a post with quotes and facts about Zach especially from his non-Trek interviews so here it is

Zachary John Quinto, born June 2, 1977 in Pittsburgh babies!
Zach on his Real Life Heroes
“Mother Teresa. God called her on her path. Once she listened to God and followed her life's purpose, she never heard from him again. It was her faith in him that kept her focused and committed”
Zach on his first job
“I worked at a hardware store in Green Tree. It was kind of boring, but I liked mixing paint and making copies of keys for customers”
Zach’s most demeaning job
“I played a high school basketball mascot, so I was in a massive chicken suit. There was fight between 2 main characters and somehow the bottom half of my costume fell down and I was standing in my boxer shorts in the middle of the gymnasium. I remember wondering: is this really my life right now? There was a dinner party at my house that night - I was like "Somebody pout me a very big glass wine"
Zach's BFF is
Brigid Ryan, she's from Pittsburgh and attended The Carnegie Mellon school of drama with Zach.
Zach on his first day on Heroes
“Jack Coleman was the first person I met on the show my first day of work. I showed up to kill the cheerleader, and I had just gotten cast the day before. So I was really like jumping in headlong, and Jack was great. We stood at my trailer, I remember, talking for a long time. It was really cool.”
Not all of Zach’s co-workers are so kind
The cockroach in S1 of Heroes kept “crawling up my pant leg”
Zach adores squishing animals
His pets in case you didn’t know are Noah and Harold
Zach's secret musical skills playing Banjo!
“I got one for Christmas, and it sat in the corner of my house for quite some time, but I'm about to start lessons”
The character Zach would most like to play is
Sweeney Todd. "I remember seeing that play when I was a kid, and it was so scary, and it was when I understood the power of the theatre to affect people pretty profoundly. But I'm a little young to play that yet"
Zach has an awesome older brother Joe, who takes photos and is generally better than everyone.
Zach on fashion trends he wish would go away
"Well, Ugg boots came and went, thank the sweet Lord. What do they have now that I can think of? I'm kind of over skinny jeans. They seem to be all the rage right now, and I could do without those, I suppose."
Zach is a liar liar look uggs!
Zach probably not a fan of OTND (but obviously a fan of this comm)
“I think tabloid gossip has reached a dangerous level of insidiousness, and it's really indicative of the fact that people in this country are disconnected from the things that are really going on-things that are really important, really scary, and that people don't want to look at. Instead, people turn their attention to this brand of media, which is so empty and all about immediate gratification. It's on a whole different level now, and we're spending all our time talking about Anna Nicole, and who's the baby's daddy, and how Britney Spears shaved her head”
Zach on that question the Heroes cast get asked every five seconds, what his superpower would be
He would choose invisibility. He says it would "simplify" his life to be able to disappear and reappear at will.
Zach on his similarities with Sylar
"I would say we both have a desire to be valued. My desire to be valued is manifested in cultivating relationships with my friends and family. Sylar's desire to be valued manifests itself...well, in a murderous rampage."
A car accident kinda changed his life
“I was a kid, driving too fast, I lost control.....I was joyriding around town and being a little flagrant about it. It was kind of late at night and I was coming around a bend and lost control. It could've been really serious because we stopped 5 feet away from a giant oak tree. Nobody got hurt, but it definitely led to some serious discussions with my family. I got a three-hour lecture about responsibility and what you're going to do with your life. It was really emotional and a cathartic experience. I guess that's when I claimed my place as an actor in life.”
Wanna know Zach’s 12 favourite places to eat? Well now you can
"Yaffa Cafe is a 24-hour upscale diner with a wide variety of offerings and a wider variety of decorations, low ceilings, a lovely back patio and cool staff. Don't forget to ask for your complimentary Yaffa condom when settling your check."
More here Zach on Mohinder/Sylar working with Sendhil Ramamurthy
“Sendhil's a laugh riot”
"Sylinder The Sitcom, it’s a spin off! Sylinder 's where it’s at!”
Zach has a tattoo
Of the Celtic Triskelion symbol
He almost gave up acting before Heroes
"Jarred by his misfortune, the unemployed actor descends into a funk, even growing a scraggly, rabbinical beard."
His favourite holiday is Halloween
“My favorite holiday, by the way. It’s a tradition with me and my brother that we usually gallivant about the town and party hop on Halloween...... Past costumes have included a lit match and a zombie Mr. Rogers”.
He passes time on the Heroes set by doing crosswords
“I can get through to Wednesday, maybe Thursday of the New York Times' puzzles. Kristen (Bell) and I do them. ..she just has to deal with the fact that I'm a lot better. Just kidding. Sort of”
On Sylar vs Spock
“That’s a tough position to put me in, because who would I want to come in first? Good always has to triumph at one point...or it could be “the Wrath of Sylar?”
So what is the Quinto made off?
Notes: This was mostly from interviews before the crazy Trek press onslaught this year.
