Which wasn't too long ago, actually. I first decided to go to London in October when I realized that Shater would be in Düsseldorf in May. I promised my mother to take her on a belated Mother's Day trip that Sunday, but then she cancelled our appointment. And off I went... :)
Yes, it was my first time. Actually, viewing him from the balcony was a bit like watching another YouTube video and when he started telling some of his stories I went all Homer Simpson inside ("Bo-o-o-o-oring!"). But I liked the relaxed atmosphere of the con. It didn't feel like 6000 people or what it was, more like a friends & family meeting.
Seeing him and Walter Koenig live, I really realised how young Shatner looks (talks, moves ...) compared to Koenig, who is five years his junior.
After a while he interrupted her, wondering if there was a question buried in her remarks.
HAH! I love it. People who gush on the mic instead of asking their question right away are one of the reasons why I fear the open mic segments of panels. Thanks for posting.
Felicia Day is also on the show Eureka. Love that show. I would love an opportunity to see the Shat live. He is just awesome. :) Thanks so much for sharing your experience!
