Graduation party post and Pakistan help

Aug 27, 2010 19:45

It's hard to believe that the end of the term is nearly upon us, but graduation is tomorrow!  The ceremony will begin at 8PM GMT.  Any additional course posts or extracurricular posts should be submitted before then.

(aka PARTY POST TOMORROW (Saturday) at 8PM GMT!)

Before we conclude our time here at Starfleet Academy, I would like to direct all ( Read more... )

$200 on Quark. A couple of things, though:

- I would want to make the donation through my work, because they match donations, so that would be more money going to Pakistan.

- If possible, I'd like to write the post. If I did get to write it, it would take quite a while to write, so not next week or anything. It would be very long and picspammy, and since the character is not so well known among newer fans, it'd be more of a "this is why I think this character is awesome" post than a "here's one pic, go appreciate him in the comments" post. Not that anything's wrong with the latter kind of post for characters who everyone knows about, and of course I would encourage further picspammery and GIFs and such in the comments.

- TBH, I'm donating the $200 either way, but I thought I might as well try to get some Quark appreciation out of it. ;-)

Hey, less work for me ;) I think that's great -- people can either pick the character and have me write the post, or write it themselves. And you'll get to pick the week too, so no worries there.

And donating through work would be fine!

Cool, thanks! :) If you want confirmation that a donation has been made, I can do that. I'll just have to black out my personal info in the confirmation email my company will send me. This is assuming I don't get outbid, of course.

Starfleet Academy Week was a *FANTASTIC* idea, and thank you for putting so much work into it! I'm really hoping to see more educational-ish posts inspired by this week in future - they've all been great.

Edited to add: aw, thanks for the bit in the OP! *blushes* $200 honestly is not that generous for me, though. I'm out of school, I make good money at my job, and I don't have a lot of expenses, so my $200 is roughly equivalent to a starving college student's $10 as far as its effect on my life.
