Me and the brother went and saw Red Tails today. It was pretty good. Some of the acting wasn't that fantastic, and the storyline occasionally left something lacking, BUT, I loved it. It felt really genuine and real. Also, WWII dogfights. The hearts in my eyes were massive.
Also, I want to see Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close so very badly. It looks like such a good film, even though I will cry like a baby through most of it, I'm sure.
It was really good. The fight scenes were fantastic. And the fact that Lucas had to fight for decades to get it out really shows; there's a great attention to detail and you can tell that for the people who made it, it wasn't just another movie.
He had to fight for the movie? He's George Lucas. Couldn't he just walked into any studio, held up a big poster of Star Wars, pointed to it and said, "Now, I want to make this WWII movie" and be done with it?
