Was it implied that he died off screen? I don't remember that.

IDK about anything that might have been revealed in SGU, but in season 10 of SG-1, they explicitly state that Langara (Jonas' planet) has been taken over by the Ori.

They never say what happened to Jonas, though. I know I used to see theories bouncing around, though. The two most popular ones were that he either died defending his planet, or he was lying low, and leading an underground rebellion against the Ori.

...I like the second one.
