GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The figure skating season that follows any Winter Olympics is an interesting interlude. For every successful athlete who's hung over from the adrenaline of the Games, there's another who is left hungry

I dunno, it t's seemed that way ever since I've watched skating. The US ladies have seemed more consistent in that arena, but that's just my own opinion from my own memories of the last ten years. I was too busy stanning people outside of the US (THANK YOU PLUSHY FOR STILL BEING RELEVANT AND MAKING ME FEEL LESS OLD) :D.
I feel so bad for ALissa though, she's gotta have sooooooo much pressure on her for Worlds (and especially considering her lackluster history with Worlds appearances), ditto with Rachael Flatt- so they can finally get 3 spots for the ladies. I hope they can do it.
As for the men, idk, I don't think it's fair to say that we'll probably lose 2 spots for Worlds next year. We'll prolly just lose 1, so next year is going to be super interesting. That said, I'm kind of excited to see how the two n00bs will do- this has to be a really great, yet nerve-wracking experience for them (I still don't understand why the USFSA is sending Dornbush to senior worlds when he asked for junior worlds and he hasn't even skated on the GP yet though...).
I hope US pairs do well too. \o/
Though I'm most excited for the Shibutanis. :3 I hope they school everybody~~~~~
I really want Alissa to be on the podium at Worlds but I don't see her beating the Japanese girls and Yuna. Maybe she'll get 5th and Flatt will get 8th and we'll have 3 spots.
For men, there was really no guarantee that we would keep 3 spots no matter who we sent so it won't make much of a difference. I think we can keep 2 with the guys we are sending.
For pairs, I'm hoping we can somehow get 3 spots. We just need to beat the Canadian teams, TakaTran and the Italians...which is probably too hard for them. But it would be hilarious and if we got 3 spots in ladies and pairs and lose a spot in mens.
For dance, I just hope Merylie win and Shibs make the top 8.
I would be so, so happy if Alissa medaled at Worlds, because (a) she's so lovely and so on fire this season and she totally deserves it, and (b) please please please I want three ladies spots back gahh miserable third place Mirai BROKE MY HEART, OKAY. So Alissa, I mean, no pressure bb, but YOU GET THAT WORLD MEDAL, GIRL. I BELIEVE IN YOU <3
Re: men, just, ugh, guys, please don't screw this up too much. That's all I ask. And rock on, Team USA ice dance. I adore all three of the teams that we're sending to Worlds, and I have high hopes! :D
