I sort of agree about the falling. I really don't like this "getting your rotations in but not having the technique right or the strength to land your jumps" as being superior bit.
I will say though that I don't think retieing your skates is anything more than an unfortunate accident and I actually give Oda credit for being able to skate so solidy after a shake up like that. It was impressive to me. I love you Johnny, but I think that dig was unfair.
No, I agree that landing the jumps IS important. (see: PChan) I just don't think that Johnny's programs, although he skated clean, should have beaten Daisuke's programs even though Dai fell. That dig was unnecessary.

If Johnny can actually muster himself and do it and come back with a real competitive program, it'll be inspirational. I'd love to see that happen.

I'd love to see it too, and I've lately felt like the only one! I think if he committed to it, he'd be awesome. :)

Annoying Thing #2: flamboyance
Annoying Thing #3: "Third place fell. Other skaters who beat me fell, and I barely beat Nobunari Oda - and he stopped to retie his skate."
johnny ilu but can we just admit that daisuke's programs were better DEALWITHIT.GIF
That said, I wouldn't mind Johnny coming back, although I don't look forward to how federations etc. would treat him. :/

"I think a lot of the Grand Prix was pretty ridiculous with Patrick Chan winning so much and falling all over the place," he said.
