New Russian President!

I know there’s already a lot of news today, but we have one more.

Alexander Gorshkov was elected the new President of FFKKR (Figure Skating Federation of Russia).



Here are some facts of his life, photos and videos.

With his partner and wife Lyudmila Pakhomova, Aleksander is the six times European and World champion (Guinness World Records), first (!) Olympic champion in ice dancing (1976).

The pair with the coach, Elena Tchaikovskaia, invented Tango Romantica in 1973!

Lyudmila died of cancer in 1986 at the age of 39.


Currently Alexander is the chairman of the ISU’s ice dance technical committee and the president of the charitable foundation “Art and sport” named after his wife.
