I know what you mean about the sound! That was one thing I really loved the first time I saw a live skating performance. It makes it feel so much more real - it can be easy to forget how hard and slick ice actually is!

I love the sound of blades sliding on the ice... especially early in the morning, when I'm at the rink alone and I can hear only the sound of my skates...
yeah, it's kinda weird, but everyone has something - my sister, as creepy as it sounds, for example loves the sound of teeth brushing, lol.

Like I get very excited and gives me chills when I heard the blades on the ice and also see the ice flying, I felt weird all the time 'cause I thought I was the only one xD

Aren't skate blades sharp? How does standing on someone's leg in one not cut them? :S

I feel like she's probably putting most of her weight on her back leg to spare poor Charlie.

Also, I read an interview where Scott Moir said that when the girl's skate blade is balanced on the guy's leg in lifts like that it doesn't hurt him because her blade doesn't move, therefore "no cutting action".

I prefer my initial explanation, though: maaaaaagic.

During the Olympic coverage they said (iirc) that it gives Charlie a bruise.

For a while he wore a pad there but he felt like that interfered with his skating so he said he'd take the bruise. I'm assuming that's only in competition though.
