Daisuke to avoid surgery until Worlds 2011

May 10, 2010 23:56

Following Plushy's great news from last week,

Dai announced he will postpone his bolt removal surgery until the end of next skating season! (source)

This means that he will not lose one whole month (or more?) to rehab again.

Hopefully he will have plenty of time to work on new choreography, adjust to the new scoring system & continue to skate at ice shows this off season.

I'm slightly worried this may be the sign that he made up his mind to retire after Worlds 2011, but I'm happy for now that he's serious about defending his title!

BTW, today was a very hectic day for Team Japan.
They were awarded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (damn that's long),

had a meeting with the Emperor & Empress of Japan (again!),

+ Dai attended a press conference for the release of the Vancouver Olympics commemorative stamps.
