A POST ABOUT THE FUTURE OF MEN'S FIGURE SKATING
Or rather, just a post about Yuzuru Hanyu :P
Yuzuru missed a Stars on Ice performance yesterday because he had to go to his high school admission ceremony. So in honor of his first day of high school I decided to make a post about him!
First of all random facts:
1. His birthday is December 7th and he's 15 years old.
2. He won Junior Worlds this year which IMO is super impressive because when I looked back at the ages of JW winners from the last 20 years the only other guys who were around his age when they won were Plushenko (14) and Daisuke (15), the winners usually seem to be 18/19.
3. He's from Sendai, which is the same place as Arakawa Shizuka. His coach, Nanami Abe also coached Shizuka at one point.
4. The skaters he admires the most are Plushenko and Johnny Weir.
2004 Novice B competition. That means he was 9 years old here.

His FS from the 07/08 season. He placed 3rd in Junior Nationals with this at 12.
His SP from Skate Copenhagen 08 where he finished first (in a field of 2 lol)
Embedding is disabled but this is a cute fluff piece from when he won the 2007 novice nationals. Even if you can't really understand it it's cute, it shows him with his 'rival' Ryuju Hino and his mother sewing his costume awww.
His SP at the 2008 Japanese Nationals where he placed 8th.
His FS from the 2009 Junior Worlds where he came in 12th. I love the Eurosport commentary. They keep talking about how lovely he is :P They think he's going to be a star in the future, and I think so too!
He had a really super season this year and pretty much won everything on the junior level (he came in 6th at senior nationals).
SP from Junior Grand Prix Final. I like his 3Lz+2T with his hands over his head :D
His FS from JGPF. I would probably be the worst judge in the world, because that second triple axel? I would want to give him positive GOE just for trying to land that thing! XD
His SP from senior Nationals. Unfortunately he didn't do well enough to be in the last group so Fuji even didn't show his FS! Boooo

Apparently his new EX is great too and it aired in Japan, I haven't found any vids of it yet :( But here are some pics:

So yeah I think he's going to be huge in the future but for next season I think he needs to work on his triple axel (it's good but I still feel like he falls on it too much), getting more 3-3s and those costumes... THE GLOVES HAVE GOT TO GO.
