The offseason is just about over but I'm still drowning in boredom so I thought (because I have way too much time on my hands)--let's sort the skaters into Harry Potter houses! I never read Harry Potter a s a kid but read (more like was forced to read) the books when I was a teen due to my best friend's addiction to it.
There are four houses:

I'd probably throw Liza into Gryffindor. I think Artur is also probably a Gryffindor; brave and steadfast. Maybe that makes him a Hufflepuff?
Plushy is also a Gryffindor, I think. Reckless? Lack of common sense? Yep, that sounds like him.
Jason is a Ravenclaw IMO, like I said above. But I think Joshua is a Hufflepuff. Shy, brave, strong, not reckless or arrogant, hard-working.
Ross is also a Hufflepuff, I think.

I agree that his tremendous courage would qualify him as a Gryffindor, but TBH there are some things I don't like about Gryffindors (as JKR wrote them) that I don't see in him. Actually, arrogance is the main one of these things. Though a part of me really want to call him a Hufflepuff just to go against the grain, given his also tremendous loyalty and the fact that he's said that it's one of the things he values the most.
Don't know if there's much Ravenclaw in him, unless you want to count very occasional flashes of Luna Lovegood stuff like "Most of the ice in the world ( ... )

I think Plush himself and most of the Russians would like to regard themselves as Gryffindor, because courage and heroism are a very important part of national idea of a great person, children are raised with that, they value the overcoming. And the lack of common sense is often regarded as heroism too (doctors told me not to do it, but I did and I won, so I am right).
And also there were several mentions in HP, that sometimes the Hat had doubts sorting the studens, for example, Hermione says the Hat told her she'd also be fit in Rawenclaw. So it's normal to have traits of more than one house.

LOL yes, I'm starting to see how pervasive the Cold War mentality still is. I am also curious if there truly is something...Well, I don't know if I should use the term "Other", about Plushenko (and perhaps other Russian skaters) to many people.
And the lack of common sense is often regarded as heroism too
True. Though at times I do wonder if the exactly same point couldn't be rephrased as "the heroism (or maybe that word is too much; let's say romanticism) is often regarded as lack of common sense" (he's had every title, so why can't he just give it a rest?)
So it's normal to have traits of more than one house.
Again, totally agree with this. Which is why when all's said and done, it doesn't really make sense to try to fit people into four neat boxes, I guess.

Menshov is Hufflepuff for sure.
I'd say Tanya and Max are Gryffindor, especially he, cause he always speaks from his heart and seems to believe deeply in everything he says, to have no doubts in his ideas. And when there was a riot about ru fed not sending Kostya to Europeans, he lead it, for he thought that was struggle for justice.
Also Urmanov had both positive and negative Gryff traits, and still has them now when he's a coach. When Bush left him he was so WTF how about honour and loyalty? it was quite funny.
Plushenko looks very Slytherin, but Mishin's younger students don't seem to be as cunning. Probably they are both Claws. They love to study, but mostly hide their feelings (watch any k'n'c) and don't like speaking about their problems.
