I'm curious as to what pairs and ice dance teams Japan will get, as well as whether or not Evan will really compete or not (I don't see USFS offering him any more money than they did before tbh considering their best chances of medaling are with ladies and ice dance so I hope he just deals with it) and if Johnny is still pretending his comeback will happen (I wish it would but at this point I doubt it)
But more importantly the Sochi Olympics will mark my 4 year anniversary of actually understanding figure skating and of joining this comm ♥♥

I wish Evan and Johnny would stop pretending about coming back. Since Johnny has no GP assignments, I give him a snowball's chance in hell of making the team for Sochi. Evan, well, I'll wait to see if a) he actually competes, and b) how well he does. Right now, I think the USFSA would be more inclined to go with fresh blood and strong legs.

I used to really believe in Johnny's comeback but I just can't deal with it anymore. Too many false promises! I am not the naive novice I once was...that and IA that the USFSA is more inclined to go with fresh blood and strong legs, especially if they can quad. I also think Evan's stiffness on ice will work to his disadvantage too tbh, a lot has happened in the last four years since he's been gone

I used to adore Johnny (and still regard very fondly the years when he was in his prime), but I feel like he just screwed away his best competitive years. It's a narrow window of opportunity for any skater, and you don't get that time back.
Evan, I think, REALLY lucked into the gold medal at Vancouver... the kind of victory where you thank the Good Lord that the stars aligned so perfectly for you, then you immediately announce your retirement, skate pro for a while, do some endorsements and maybe some commentary, and bask in people's adulation. You go out while you're still classy, rather than annoying and pathetic. Both Evan and Johnny are quite honestly embarrassing themselves with their incessant talk about returning to competitive skating. They're like the Boys Who Cried Wolf--nobody believes them any more.

JOSHUA, JASON AND HAN ARE FINALLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY SENIORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When Jason said he was going to let the USFSA decide I thought for sure he was going to get sent around the JGP again, because the USFSA are stupid like that.
Very displeased to see that the USFSA wasted a GP spot on Lysacek.
Also displeased to note that Kovtun got two and Menshov only one. As for Artur, I am mightily relieved that he even got one!
