I had no idea until you said it right now that there are accusations of human rights violations against China.

.... is it naive of me to think that every 20-y-old with access to education from a democratic country should know that? I mean Ai Wei Wei for example is all over the news in Europe, I don't know about North America...

(of course I don't condemn him for liking his cultural heritage and I also don't think you should always think in political terms of countries but to me his wish to be a Chinese skater seemed like he didn't take into account that Canadians have the liberty of free speech. A nagging voice im my head keeps insisting he should know that about China, if only because I think it's part of your basic knowledge.)

He must either be utterly stupid or willfully ignorant to not know about China's history of human rights abuses. Especially since he lives and trains in the US, come the fuck on.

I wish he would think before he speaks, because as underappreciated as figure skating is in general and him in particular (lolololol) he is still a public figure and he needs to stop saying stupid shit as often.

I also wish he would find a new coach. One that doesn't spoon feed his ego.
