both this interview and the recent article on PChan focused on their desire to challenge themselves and continue to improve; in many ways their goals are very similar, but the way they approach their goals really make me respect Dai and get annoyed at Patrick.
Where Dai credits working with different coaches and choreos to get a variety of opinions and perspectives to his skating and emphasizes learning from and being challenged by these coaches and his show companions, Patrick (and Christy Krall) seem to think that Patrick only needs to look deep within himself and be in some perfect unstressful mental place (made possible by Krall's mandatory "fun time") to discover how to improve

Missed the men's SP at Skate Chanada last night thanks to messed up stream, but I am so stoked that Dai and Javi finished ahead of Patrick! Is this the end of the ridiculous holding up of this particular skater??? I'll be watching hard.

We still haven't seen enough of him.
He remains so humble and classy and so eager to constantly improve, even though he could easily already sit on his laurels. I love him sfm.
