I'm going with my sister, stalking staying at the skaters' hotel like last time. (What, they're actually convenient, nice, and affordable!)
If anyone is wondering about Laura Lepistö's absence, she is withdrawing from Finlandia AND Skate America due to yet another foot injury. Helsingin Sanomat (national newspaper in Finland) states it's an injury caused by "chafing of the skate boot" or something to that effect.
EDIT: another news source (Yle) clarifies that the injury is due to a skate boot causing irritation in the foot's nervous tissue.
TV schedule doesn't seem to be available in detail yet, but something will be aired on the Sunday at 5:30pm local time - that's after the competition has ended.
Thank's for the info, I'd missed that. Such a pity about her injury though, I was so looking forward to seeing her come back on the ice :/ hope this doesn't mess up her entire season again...
It's weird how the dance competition here is stacked, but there are hardly any top teams at Nebelhorn, and the reverse for the men's competition. Hope Laura can recover in time for the GPs!
Not really new, no - this is the fifteenth or sixteenth Finlandia Trophy. It has just always been somewhat uneven, for whatever reason! We'll get ten relative who-r-us, but often also several skaters who are in the top 10 internationally, and even reigning world/olympic champs.
