Not unexpected, but I am sad, I've only gotten to see him skate in these few competitions this season and now I am worried that I'll never get to see him again! I hope he has a successful career as a show skater and the Canadians fans gift us with videos :) Good luck Shawn!

You know, I can't stand PJ Kwong and I don't like how she worded the title of her article.

Still, I'm sad to see Shawn leave competition, he is so cute! I loved watching him skate. But, all the best for him in the future and I'm glad he seems happy retiring and moving forward!

IA it was awkward. "Walks away" implies abandoning somehting and it has a negative connotation. Shawn seems fairly at peace with his decision, though it's evident going to World's would have been his first choice.

Even "bows out" or "goes in a new direction" would have been better. I think it was unnecessary. And really, PJ Kwong is unnecessary.

I'm too late, again, sob.
He is one of the skaters in my "dream final group."
I love watching him skating. I wish he has a great career as a pro skater.
