That's true, I hadn't really considered it but this does seem to rule out relocation as a possibility.

I guess the people I feel the worst for in the skating world are the skaters, whose eligibility for things next season was riding on Worlds results (or for whom this was supposed to be their final competition or likely to be their only shot at Worlds, etc.), and the fans who had tickets to the events and businesses relying on revenue from the event. No solution is going to fix things for all of them. That being said, I think everything else takes a backburner to what the people of Japan need, want, and can support at this time - and it sounds like a figure skating competition is not one of those things.

I agree, if they aren't relocating then they are probably canceling. The situation isn't going to get better in enough time, or in enough predictable time, to make it possible to be held in Japan.

With that said, while it's frustrating, I'm sure skaters are level headed enough to realize that they were lucky to come out safe, or to have never been there during, and for their families in Japan to be safe.
