The aim of the research is to develop a more efficient way of producing meat than rearing animals.

At a major science meeting in Canada, Prof Mark Post said synthetic meat could reduce the environmental footprint of meat by up to 60%.

Provided no animals are hurt in the production of this (?), I'd try it. But it sounds like somewhere along the line, they still need to take something from slaughtered animals, so...

Edit: Yeah, it says they need blood for it, still. Since I doubt that blood is going to be coming from happy and beloved donors, I guess this doesn't do much for vegetarians. Suppose it could assuage the consciences of omnivores who are concerned for the environment but don't want to quit meat, though.

I think I'm happy still being a vegetarian. But I'd probably try it at least once. You know. To say I did.

I'm vegetarian. IDK whether or not I'd eat it. I'd have to think about it first. Interesting, though.

Right? As if synthetic meat could possibly be better for you than NATURAL, ethical, humanely raised meat.
I think I will continue to eat food hunted and raised by my family, thank you.
