Could starfish inspire new cure for inflammation?

Lurking in the seas of Scotland is an unlikely candidate for a medical breakthrough.

But scientists believe the starfish could hold the key to finding a new treatment for inflammatory conditions such as asthma, hay fever and arthritis.

Well, no, scientific names are the Latin names. There's definitely a push to start using "sea star" as the proper common name, but "starfish" still hangs on as the old fashioned term, so I'm not surprised to see it in a BBC article. But yeah, I prefer sea star, since they're not fish.
