You don't have to be a gal who gets her nails done to have experienced the fumes of a modern nail salon. Walk past any nail kiosk in a mall and you'll be smacked in the face by the toxic odors emanating from small shops, almost always staffed by young immigrant women of color.

I read this while painting my nails. I also worry at them all the time because I'm a nail-biter. The brand I'm using at the moment (Brucci) isn't even present on that card, and has price stickers pasted over the ingredients list, but I think I see formaldehyde resin listed... D:

I've never had a professional manicure or pedicure, and now I think I never will. I'll have to go check all my nail polishes against that reference card when I get home. :/

i do paint my nails at home (rimmel), but i never get my nails done *yuck* i work in a mall and nail salons smell horrible....walking past gives me a headache....
