not filling in with auto-complete seems small but signifiant--bizarre that this was ever the case

huh, the auto complete still doesn't seem to be working, but all the hits on the first page seem relevant. While it seems stupid to not include the auto complete option I am confused as to how this made searching more difficult. But, I tend to ignore the auto complete stuff anyways.

Yarrr. I hate HATE HATE auto-complete. I turned it off when Google first rolled in the feature, and then they made it permanent and a feature and not an option. Ugh. I feel like it gives Google too much power in search terms, even though it doesn't really inhibit web searches. Plus it's annoying as all hell.

Idk, maybe I'm just getting cranky in my old age. I remember when Google was just a plain site with a search box and no gimmicky features.

According to Ms. Cheltenham in online comments, "If you type bisexual parenting or bisexual rights, the auto completes actually occur NOW when they used to not. But only these few terms are auto completing now because we've essentially started over with Google and all the stuff that would auto complete in 2008 hasn't been auto completed for a few years . . . Sucks to be starting over but due to the sheer numbers of our community, we can expect to see real change in 6 months to a year . . . not including this info in the press releases cause this stuff isn't a hard science but in my past experience it takes about that to see changes in search results."

i'm glad there's an article being posted about this, and that google has (finally) stopped banning the autocomplete of bisexual and lesbian.

however i'm sorry to see you being the one to post it, seeing as i still remember that time you whined about lesbians and their patriarchal conspiracies. forgive me for bringing it up, but that stuff tends to stick in my totally irrational dyke mind.
