It drives me insane now she's taken over a large chunk of FAIRFAX (my fave Australian paper). Between her and Murdoch it's just ugh. I can't stand her. I just...ugh.

And don't get me started on the mining industry. I could go on for ages.

The industry itself is not a bad thing. It provides a lot of jobs, a lot of money (through taxes, both at the company level and the taxes paid by individual employees) for infrastructure and important projects. I've worked in the mining sector before, as a cook on a minesite, and the money I saved up doing that has let me have a family.

It's useful.

The difficulty comes when greedy little trolls like Gina Rinehart decide that being in such a money-spinning industry makes them important or special, and say they want to play in politics rather than sticking to running companies they didn't even build.

Gina Rinehart can fuck off. But please don't hate the whole industry because she's being a self-important idiot who doesn't understand how a community and a society actually works.

I would love to talk more..but due to reasons I can't. But I have major issues with the mining industry. Also, I grew up in a mining town, almost every member of my family works in the mines. So I am aware of what the mining industry does for people. and how it screws people over

It does indeed screw people over. You're right...and a large part of the screwing over is done at the behest of the rich assholes at the top, who want more money, more power and more people thinking they're awesome when they're not. Hello Gina!

What in the actual fuck Gina?

You are rich because of your FAMILY. You did not start this company yourself. Yes you expanded it but it's a lot easy to expand a company than it is to start it. You're also trying to deny your own children the same hand up your father gave you.

Secondly you want us to become like America go there. But stop taking OUR resources and the complain that we're taxing you for it.

In conclusion fuck you.

Gina. No. Just no. Stimulating jobs through the methods you are suggesting is just not effective, and there are whole industries that have died in other countries as a result of adopting this policy. Okay, I'll accept that government employment on massive scales ala the PIIGS is also terrible economic strategy, but to suggest that just going the other way to complete fiscal libertarianism will fix things is naive and uninformed. You want to have a bitch about idiocy in fiscal policy, let's talk about superannuation. Otherwise, get down off your high horse and realise that you are where you are because of an incredibly privileged upbringing and the convenience of inherited capital to invest. Also, let's talk about the discrepancy between income tax rates and franking rates for similar amounts before you start whining about your tax bracket.

Given how her dad treated her it isn't surprising she's grown up a bit messed up and confused when it comes to how decent human beings should treat each other.
