There was probably more suffering involved in his refusal for food than if the courts would've just let him die the way he wanted to begin with. That part's awful and saddening. But at least he got what he wanted, in the end.

I'm glad that he received his wishes sooner rather than later. That must be a miserable way to spend the last days of your life. :-/

He should have never had to fight the courts and prolong his suffering for so long, but I am glad he was able to pass sooner rather than later. I hope it wasn't too painful.

I'm glad he has found the relief he wanted- it's disgusting that he had to starve himself and suffered pneumonia.
