Batman cinema shooting: 14 people shot dead and 50 injured in Denver

A masked gunman has shot dead 14 people and wounded more than 50 others at a Batman film premiere of The Dark Knight Rises in the US, police said.

Still horrifying, but the dead count has been reduced to 12.

This is sick. I also got into a pre-screening yesterday as part of a corporate seminar, and the movie itself is very violent and callous, but not gory. Then somebody driving past me in the parking lot screamed at me, and I seriously thought he was going to pull out a gun on me. Luckily, it was not that type of neighborhood, not that it has to be. I was feeling very paranoid watching the movie inside a dark theater with strangers as well.

Yes! Everyone is okay.

A good friend of mine is heading down there, though. She grew up there, still has a lot of friends/family there... and one of her friends was among the injured. (They're going to be okay, but my heart still breaks all over for them.)
