I'm sure this is common in a lot more clothing stores than Wet Seal, ugh

You would be very much correct , unfortunately. :(

Sticking a trigger warning just in case.

Edit: Link busted. Fixed it.

I know I've also read about Hollister (I think it was Hollister? Maybe Abercrombie & Fitch) firing an employee because she was an amputee and they didn't feel it fit in with their "image."

Yeah, it looks like almost all the major clothing retailers got dinged for these sorts of things. Gap clothing, too, though they were harder to find.

Stories like this kill me because honestly, I don't see anything classy or desirable about a lot of the white people that come out of these stores. Maybe they don't wear the clothes from that store when they go shopping there? Not that they look bad, they just look like average, flip-flop wearing, khaki shorts, baseball cap white guys and sundresses, ponytails, and tiny elastic headbands white girls.

I have never heard of this company, but will have the name in the back of my mind as one to avoid.

Good luck to them - hope they win!

That's some damning evidence! I wish her well.

And this is why having people fired 'at will' sucks. It allows discrimination to happen.
