From the article... "DeMint said children should be able to go to schools that teach creationism. He claimed that scientific discoveries, such as the human genome project, provided evidence supporting creationism. DeMint also said God had put Christians in charge of “this vineyard we call America.”"

I'm not sure but it could be a reference to the grapes of wrath bit in the Battle Hymn of the Republic which in itself is a reference to Revelation 14:19-20.

But IDK, I think Steinbeck got there first and did it better and kind of spoiled it for conservatives who want to use that imagery.

There ARE religious scientists on the project but that doesn't magically make the results support creationism.

I'm guessing he stopped at the references of Y-Chromosomal Adam and Mitochondrial Eve, but didn't bother to check that two lived thousands of years apart.
