I tell ya, I feel like AQ is doing this just so they can laugh at how far people will let gov't/security theater push them.

It was an exploding tampon, wasn't it. Somebody designed an exploding tampon.

If they have anti-rape tampons, an exploding tampon isn't a far fetch.

Would these things even have enough oompfh to put a hole in a plane that would force it to land? I really can't see it doing enough damage to destroy a plane. I dunno. It's like the worst case scenario is they have to clean some idiotic terrorist's remains from a bathroom because he blew his goddamn groin off.

Tbh, it seems like their goal is more to get us pissed off at the TSA rather than actual terror.

Then they are succeeding, damn. I still hate the creepy scanners they've got going on right now.

Not to make light of the situation, but I believe Al-Qaida's latest attack and plan have been really sucky (and unoriginal since it was done before, and it failed). You would think after the US killed Osama Bin Laden they would retaliate with something bigger, instead they are going with something small (dangerous, but small in comparison to 9/11). It is great the attack was stopped but if we remember the documents that was uncovered by the raid, Osama wanted a huge attack against America, but it has been impossible for them to pull it off as of lately. I believe it is only a matter of time before their group is disbanded and done...

still, I believe the psychological damage, fear, and insecurity after 9/11, will probably last longer, even after this terrorist organization banishes...
