I'm unaware of a 'closed-fist salute' in any context but the Black Panthers. What does it mean to this guy?

*googling only gives me Black Panther link, too....*

Being a murderous bigot isn't mental illness. That's insulting to those of us suffering from mental illnesses.

Most mentally ill people are not bigoted extremists. He might very well suffer from some form of mental illness, but automatically associating it with violent people is inaccurate.

He will probably end up in a psychiatric prison. And I'm even trying to understand if he pretending to be mental ill or if he really is so.
I think it is absolutely crazy how someone can plead not guilty when there are numerous of witnessed and even photos/video footage.
Entering the court, Breivik thumped his chest with his right hand before extending the arm with a clenched fist to the crowd of about 200 people, composed of families of victims, survivors, journalists and four psychiatrists. The salutation explains in a manifesto published on the Internet, represents "strength, honor and a challenge to Marxist tyrants in Europe." Sick.

That's the horrible thing though- he's not pleading not guilty in that he didn't kill them, he's pleading not guilty because apparently killing them was 'self-defence'. So those kids at Utoya, those random people at the government building, they were all the 'enemy' to him.

Ugh... It was because of things like this that yesterday I concluded a very long debate with myself about death penalty...
