It's an interesting article, one I'd like to read again when I have time but I'm very confused by the headline. It had almost nothing to do with what I read, other than maybe the last little paragraph. It sounds like he was ousted in somewhere between 2003 and 2005 if I read correctly? So he didn't even work in the Obama administration? Am I wrong?

He was ousted then, from what I could tell, but he was charged in 2010 for leaking information.

Okay that makes a little bit more sense. I can see being mad about the charges/legality of the charges if its' coming from the present admin.

But the last place I would have shared any information with is WikiLeaks, and yet it is a viable internationally based alternative for getting the truth out. This is partly why [Bradley] Manning is in the hot water because he’s not going through, allegedly, an American citizen; he’s going somewhere else. And it’s not the enemy, let’s get that straight right off the bat, but he’s going to an organization that’s non-U.S.-based, non-U.S. citizen.

Interesting. I wish he would have expanded on this. Is it just the international angle that's the issue for him?

As Americans we were hoodwinked.

Oh please. Don't presume to speak for people who were actually paying attention to the political process. I knew exactly who I was voting for...and against.

Worse than Bush.

Seriously. I have yet to see much of what Obama has done that would even compare to the absolute clusterfuck that was the Bush administration. Has he messed up? Has he capitulated on campaign promises? Has he buckled like a belt when it came to standing up for things he tried to get pushed through a hostile and obstructionist congress? Yes.

But has he started wars based on lies? Has he refused to acknowledge the absolute pit that the economy was falling into? Has he created more loopholes and opportunities for his cronies? Has he pandered to a right-wing group of religious nutjobs who want to plunge this country back into the social middle ages? Not in the least.

Are you even paying attention? AT ALL?

Obama issuing an executive order to assassinate an American citizen without any due process of law is taking what Bush did and going further. Intervening in Libya without any congressional approval is another. Banking fraud settlement, his administration coordinating with local police on the suppression of OWC protests, etc. There's plenty of other stuff that I can't recall just off the cuff, but Obama's been fucking horrible. He's done some good things, but nothing to outweigh the bad. The least of most people's problems with him is that he "caves".

That OWS thing is an unfounded rumor. Seriously, the mayors of these cities don't need the President to stop protest, especially in New York City where Bloomberg made a career out of it.

The only thing that Obama fucked up on is the killing of the American terrorist without due process and going to Libya wihtout congressional approval although it was an international effort under NATO to help the rebel there.

Also, to add to the last part of what you said, (correct me if I'm wrong) I thought the president only needed approval if it was for longer than x period of time. Not that he shouldn't include Congress but I was under the impression short NATO excursions were allowed without needing approval. Isn't that how we ended up in Iraq in the first place?

Lol, exactly.

A lot of this is so interesting but you get to the last Q&A and it's just... what?
