I'd go with "fuck this shit with many bricks and a couple of circular saw blades for variety."

"Go on by respecting children of all shapes and sizes. Because they’re the ones who trust in the mouse to see them not as Lead Bottoms and Gluttons but as princesses and pirates. As beautiful."

I'm going to choose to forget this entire article except for the last line. Because everyone should get to believe themselves a princess or pirate if they'd like, and to believe in magic, regardless of size.

Ew.

What happened to just having your fun, forever loved characters doing a PSA every once in a while? Like how Sesame Street ruinedchanged Cookie Monster and cookies into a 'sometimes food'.

Kids still get to see Cookie ravishing down some cookies and get to giggle at the sight. So why can't freakin' Mickey Mouse get off his ass and pick up a carrot?

Agreed. It's great to teach children (and adults) that eating healthy and being active is important. Just do it in a sensitive manner. Have Micky Mouse eat a carrot. Have the toys from Toy Story talk about how fun running and playing outside is. Get some Disney channel stars to talk about their favorite healthy snacks.

nemeses like the lazy, grotesque “Lead Bottom” and the self-explanatory named “Glutton.”

Yup, this makes me annoyed. Someone needs to teach these people that some people are going to be larger, regardless of their activity levels. Genetics can be a bitch. My mother is active and eats very healthy, but she's still overweight. However, her doctor says she is very healthy for a woman of her age. It pains me to think that people might see her as lazy or "lead bottom" or "glutton", when she works hard to stay healthy and active.

DON'T make overweight children feel like freaks and monsters.

Yeah, like the Toy Story trilogy could be argued to be saying that kids need to play more with their toys and not their computers and shit (because toys have feelings and want to be played with), so why not go down that road more? Mr. Carrot (lol no idea why I'm fixating on carrots right now) wants to help you out with your vitamins, and Ms. Grapefruit isn't that sour once you get to know her. (although I still hate grapefruit)

HOW ARE PEOPLE NOT COMING UP WITH THIS SHIT?

Get some Disney channel stars to talk about their favorite healthy snacks. Also, don't even call them 'healthy snacks'. They're just snacks. The word itself shouldn't be instantly tied into the 'unhealthy' category when it's really just meant to be there to tide you over for a little while during the day (vegetable and nuts and fruits do this well, over-processed food does not ( ... )
