A banker left a 1% tip in defiance of 'the 99%' at a Newport Beach restaurant the other week, according to his dining companion and underling who snapped a photo of the receipt and posted it to his blog, Future Ex Banker. (Update: the blog is now offline.)

In posting the photo, the employee gave some background on his boss and the receipt:

So first the 1% tells the 99% to get a job.

And then once we have a job, they tell us to get a real job.

My canned response- "Does it require you to be in four places at once? Do you get money for it? THEN IT'S A REAL JOB!"

My husband is a server...so the "get a real job" shit really bugs me.

How is that not a real job?

A 'real' job is a job where you wear suits and make 6 figure salaries dontcha know?

Oh hell, I know people who literally think that including my own family :/

I have no idea. The hardest jobs, IME, are usually the ones that pay the least.

Now if my wife, as kitchen staff, were to be asked if front-of-house worked hard... ;)

LOL. My husband worked kitchen for 15 years. Funny thing about the "real job" thing is he's manager trained there is just no openings. So he serves because it does bring in decent money.

But yeah, when he's kitchen he complains about the lazy servers and when he serves it's the slow kitchen lol.

It's a shame that flouting standards learned in kindergarten is seen as a legitimate thing.

I am constantly baffled at entitled asswipes like this who are purposefully rude to those who handle their food/drinks. Baffled.

If there is a group of people that you should be nice to when you go out it should be those who serve and prepare your food.
