Seriously, though, I'm all for theory and political philosophy, but the world doesn't actually work like that. Less government control is a fabulous idea. It's also as realistic as the idea that we tax people for being idiots. Both are nice ideas, there's just no way to actually implement it.
Ron Paul fanboys like to talk about how his more repulsive ideas are just being ~consistent with his philosophy.~ Dude, your philosophy would directly lead to the disenfranchisement and oppression of so many people. Rethink your fucking ideals. His refusal to do so means he either doesn't know, which is worrying on many levels since he's held these views for decades and wants to be president. Or he knows and approves.

Started my American Politics class today and it turns out there's one very determined preacher of the Gospel of Ron Paul in my class, as well as four or five other (quieter) stans. I really, fundamentally do not understand how so many people can like this guy (that said, all of the aformentioned people are white cis dudes, so there's that)
