Roman Catholic bishops in Illinois have shuttered most of the Catholic Charities affiliates in the state rather than comply with a new requirement that says they must consider same-sex couples as potential foster-care and adoptive parents if they want to receive state money. In other news, it isn't "charity" if you're doing it just for the government funds. If you refuse to do something unless you're being paid, you're not doing charity, you're working. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I hate how this is being called a "charity."
