This asshole goes on television and calls for the execution of people exercising their democratic right to strike in protest at their own government's conduct, in front of their families, and people defend him? Even worse, people excuse him!?

At a time when - for people standing up for their rights around the world - that's actual fucking reality, I just can't bear the scale of this ignorance and bigotry. I've been so upset about this all day. When I lived abroad, I went to school with kids whose fathers, brothers and uncles were shot in front of them for protesting at their government's treatment of them. On the other hand, their mothers and aunts and sisters were taken off and raped, then shot so... at least he managed not to call for that on television.

I mean, holy fuck. Just... holy fuck. How is this miserable excuse for a man allowed a space in public culture and society here? How!?

I wish we as a country could band together, regardless of religion, politics or any other element, and just agree to ignore this fucker. Then he'll go away. I'm so pissed off at the BBC for paying this idiot millions in taxpayer's money to spout anti-environmental propaganda and incendiary crap and get away with it because oh, it's just a joke/he's sticking it to the PC police. Wanker.

Clarkson is under fire after saying on the bbc's the one show on wednesday night of those who took part in the mass day of industrial action over pensions: "I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families."

He added: "I mean, how dare they go on strike when they've got these gilt-edged pensions that are going to be guaranteed while the rest of us have to work for a living?"

... this is a guy who does shit on TV, right? For exorbitant sums? And he's trying to bawww about "working for a living"?

He works for the BBC. Which is funded by the licence fee. He is a flipping public sector worker on a technicality.

I would like him to tell my aunt, a teacher, where this magical gilt-edged pension is going to come from. I would like him to see her day to day work, the overtime she isn't paid and the shits she deals with: children, parents, even fellow teachers. This wanker goes around the earth and drives expensive cars, oh I am sure that is such a fucking taxing job.

I hate Clarkson and never watch the show because he always makes crap and stupid remarks about the environment and environmentalism ruining his hobby (ie big cars).

Whatever.

Funny . . . I bet he still HAS those cars. I bet he can still drive them.

Meanwhile, funnily enough, I have the same hobby and can't engage in it due to lack of money.

Methinks he should perhaps take up playing the tiny violin.

I had to look it up again, but wiki says:

he believes that the "eco-mentalists" are a by-product of the "old trade unionists and CND lesbians" who had found a more relevant cause-[39] but "loves the destination" of environmentalism and believes that people should quietly strive to be more eco-friendly.[40]

Clarkson has unorthodox views regarding global warming: although he believes that higher temperatures are not necessarily negative and that anthropogenic carbon dioxide production has a negligible effect on the global climate.

Lovely.
