Come on, my fellow Mexicans (and by that I mean both immigrants and American-born)! We can do this! :) But don't just do it to prove the statistics wrong, do it for each other, and especially, for yourself. :)
Many young Mexicans were compelled to get jobs to help their families. In short, they're often busy surviving. And when no one in your family or among your friends has been to university, it can be hard to see it as an option. What's involved in going? Are you chosen or do you apply? What happens if you fail? How do you pay for it? How do you (and your family) absorb your lack of income?
Immigrant or not, that's a big hurdle to overcome.
