Am I right in thinking Maher made the joke before anybody knew that Lara Logan had been raped? I think that's what people were saying in the post on the mothership.
Thank you, I just wanted to check! I actually managed to find the post over at ONTD as well, for anyone who wants a timeline: Logan was detained by the army for the night of Feb 3rd and released the next day; Maher made the joke on the 4th; Logan was later raped whilst reporting on the 11th; and news broke about the assault on the 15th.
Urg, I find Maher so frustrating. It's like... if I'd made a joke about something, and then some context came to light which made the joke really awful, I would feel absoutely mortified, beyond apologetic about it. But he's just being really whiny and defensive, imo. :/
