That's exactly what I was thinking, but Idk what the state of factory farming is over in the Netherlands or Europe in general. Probably isn't any better than how it is here in the US though. =\

The scale isn't as vast, but last I recall it's still pretty awful.

Yes, you would think that would be a higher priority than methods of slaughter, never mind that those animals have to suffer every minute of their lives... Except it's not about animals at all.

If there were legitimate concerns about animal cruelty here, I could see this, but everything I know about kosher/halal practices (which, admittedly, is not a whole lot) says that those methods are more humane than standard. So unless I'm wrong or something has changed, no.

Yes, this was clearly about the animals. Nothing to do with islamophobia or antisemitism. Gj people who voted this in, gj.

If only this could unite Jews and Muslims against greater enemies.

It won't necessarily because a lot of Jews here support far right parties. Because they hate Muslims. It's ridiculous how Jewish religious leaders are only speaking out *now* against anti-Muslim language and tactics of far right politicians. Because those same politicians vocally support the Jews and Israel?

Excuse me? The vast majority of Jewish religious leaders I know are liberal, and have always spoken out against Islamaphobia.

And of course dutch farming is done on quaint little farms with milkmaids wearing wooden shoes happily milking the cows while environmentally friendly windmills provide green power for all the happy, happy animals. NOT!
