...Let me see if I get the logic of the header:
Koch industries suck & There is inadequate government intervention in companies

Therefore, companies should not be people? Why is there this fixation on them going to prison?

That's pretty damning. I only found out about the Koch Bros a couple of years ago from an article in The New Yorker. They really have succeeded in focusing on wealth rather than fame.

So the more light put on these vampires, the better.

Koch Industries is obsessed with secrecy, to the point that it discloses only an approximation of its annual revenue -- $100 billion a year -- and says nothing about its profits.
At the risk of being extremely cynical, I think this plus being willing to do what it takes to succeed (more commonly known as corruption), are key to becoming as successful as they have. You'd think the lack of transparency would make people in US reluctant to be led by them but 1) maybe many don't know who's paying for the spin they get and 2) it's probably important to many of them to be a disciple to a WINNER.

They bankroll a LOT of campaigns here in Kansas. Their PACs give big chunks of money to anyone who will tout their party line.

I've not researched it, but I would bet that Brownback gets funding from them; Mike Pompeo was a V.P. in their company (well, one of them, that is); he very nearly came out of nowhere and won the legislature spot for the Wichita area from a very well known businessman, and I would bet the reason why is a combination of word passing down via the tea party and distrust of the other guy because everyone knew he is rich (which is a laugh riot of a reason).

And it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if my congressperson, Tim Huelskamp, was bought and paid for by them. The jackass just sent out an email that says he's going to introduce a bill to stop all tax increases from going into effect at the beginning of 2013. He calls it the STOP act. I call it idiocy.

I guess it get votes but that's scary. Like we haven't already had examples of that being a disaster.

Given that all major networks are now owned by companies who get significant money from Koch Industries, I wouldn't hold my breath.

The article forgot to mention that in the case of the Benzene dumping, the Government fined Koch Industries for 300 million dollars. How much did Koch actually pay? 20 million dollars. When did Koch Industries make that payment? During the Bush Administration, and the government did require them to pay out anymore.
