Fuck Republicans, fuck the tea party. $15 million in disaster aid just came to my county starting this week from a devastating flood -- the worst flood to ever happen in the county. 20,000 people were evacuated. Taking away from medicare and other necessary social services to pay for this will only hurt the flood victims more, as well as the rest of the country, and our aid had better not be held hostage by them.

Well, when you broaden your definition of socialism to include "ANYTHING that will help someone other than yourself" pretty much everything will be socialism or put another way: "when you're a hammer everything in the world looks like a nail."

I wish I had something constructive to say, but all I've got is anger. How did we get to a point in this country where people genuinely believe that we should cut disaster relief, while protecting multimillionaires from taxation? At this point, I no longer understand how simple populism is enough to keep the tea party going when they spout dangerous lunacy like this.

I'm all in favor of the GOP doing this to themselves. They seem to be utterly clueless as to how disconnected they are with most Americans and that suits me just fine.

Keep at it guys, you'll just make this easier for Obama come election time this year.

Like when George Bush Sr. went to the grocery store to prove that he was in touch with everyday American life, and had to ask someone else for the money to pay for everything because he didn't realize that "paying for the groceries" meant "you have to pay for them before you can leave the store". Clinton was dancing when that happened.

Wait...what?! What the hell did he think it meant?!
