Oh gosh I certainly hope you get some Tide Trucks up there. I live on the gulf coast and I understand how devastating these things can be. It's really great to hear everyone is pulling together. I hope it continues and your area sees some relief and steady utilities soon!!

It's just so odd the things that get to a body! Cleanliness suddenly becomes both impossible and paramount. Oh brains, always so difficult. Thank you for the good wishes!

Yes! In Texas our priorities becomes Potable Water, Ice, then Laundry. We end up having to drive further inland to friends' houses who have electricity and water back before us to do laundry. It sucks.

Do you have the time/ability to put together a post about your area? I'd really love to read it if you do.

Yikes, I'm in RI too but I got my power back Tuesday. It was such a relief - they originally told us Sunday but it came back early! Good luck!

I'm in CT and they're were finally cutting the tree on my road today. Power's been out since Sunday and I have amount a foot of water in the basement. (we have a sump to keep it clear normally, so everything is built up with the "high water" mark in mind in the basement. it's just gross)

Oh, I have power at work! thus how I'm posting! Most of downtown had power restored sunday or monday, other than the traffic light by my business which fed of the same line as my house is on. They just restored that today. It was either 4 way stop signs or had a live cop at it directing traffic during rush hour for previous few days.

I ended up cooking dinner at store two of the days. One day chili out of remains of misc in fridge, the other day I bought hot chicken from grocery store and then cooked corn in the hotpot and brought the pot home with me to have hot water to do dishes.

I have well water at home. The upside of the massive amount of water is that even though the gravity feed from well is only a 2 foot slope (so negligible incline) the well is so damn full it was providing just enough pressure to flush toilets. thank dog.
