i think thay would do this with any employee who sued them for legitment resons. you know, to send the message that if you lose you'll be turned to pennery and have the clothes striped from your back.

Asking for the losing side to pay for your counsel is pretty standard procedure in most legal cases. It's awful for her because she's probably telling the truth about what happened to her, but this isn't some out-of-the-blue request they're whipping out to teach her a lesson.

That part is common enough, you're right, and a fully legal and understandable option. But, it's like they aren't even trying to pretend to be human beings about this. Would it have been so hard for them to at least show a little empathy, especially since the question doesn't really seem to be whether or not she was raped, but the company's level of responsibility for it?
