...oh for fuck's sweet sake. The shrieking and pearl-clutching over Spiderman being a person of color is just...I fucking can't with people. Some of the comments neckbeards are leaving on various articles are brain-melting.
i'm appalled at how much self-awareness people lack that they can't see how racist wanting a CARTOON to be white instead of a POC is. how do they explain that away in a way that makes them feel like they aren't racist. IDEK
Well see, it's white people who are victims of racism these days! POC already run everything so it's really oppression to take this character away from the poor white people :(((((((((((((((((((((
It is, actually. One article I read quoted Brian Michael Bendis as saying it was seeing Daniel Glover in Spiderman pajamas on Community that gave him the inspiration for the character.
Or, if you could only pull your head out of your ass and look around for five seconds, Mr. Beck, you'd note that the majority demographic of this country is changing and popular culture is reflecting that change.
But you're right, God for-fucking-bid there be a non-white superhero.

Bi-racial? Um...
Anyway, I think a black-hispanic Spiderman is an AWESOME idea, and no, I'm not biased.

Also, if this was inspired by Daniel Glover's campaign to be Spiderman, that would make it 100% more amazing.
