Thanks for this. I've been way to exhausted from all this to wrap my head around what we actually have ended up with.

The Washington Post has super extensive coverage of the whole thing. If you go to their politics page, there's a ton to poke around at.

Been looking for a comprehensive break down of just the facts, and not reactions/opinions to the results of the latest talks all freaking day, so this pretty great; thanks, esp. as a non-American observer.

No problem; the Post is usually very good about giving overviews of big political deals.

For now, yes. But the interesting thing seems to be the joint committee on deficit reduction - if that committee ever recommended massive tax increases on, say, the rich, the GOP might have to choose between voting for tax increases on the wealthy or allowing massive automatic cuts to Pentagon spending (which apparently does not include cuts to veterans' benefits).

On the other hand, while Social Security and Medicaid are protected from the automatic cuts, Medicare isn't, so...

As an American I'm supposed to love a winner, but I just want to find these men and spit in their faces.

Earlier on CNN, Boehner walked by and had this smug fucking look on his face and I want, no need someone to punch that man.

I suggest all of you tune into The Daily Show right now, Jon is being flawless.
