Ia, that's why I posted the date. I checked through the tags but didn't see it here.

And yes, still relevent, especially the part about we shouldn't be surprised
should the level of attacks continue to escalate in scope and damage throughout the year.

This is another good, short sum up of the past few days: http://varymydays.tumblr.com/post/8143622925/livejournal-ddos-attacks

Also, I find it interesting how some people think that getting, say, 2 weeks of free paid time added to their account is not enough compensation for the inconvenience of not being able to access their RPs or something. I read somewhere that paid time works out to about 5 or 10 cents a day or something.

And the motive, as close as experts have been able to figure, is to erode the virtual infrastructure of free speech itself.

This, basically.

I ended up publicly calling to the carpet a twit whose only concern about LJ being down was "OMG I CAN'T REAAAAAD MY FANFICTIOOOOOON AND ROLEPLAAAAAAY". Erosion of free speech? Lol, whatevs. I need my fix of Edward banging Alice. :B

I was upset I couldn't access any of my fandom stuff too, but once I found out the reason for it I became even more infuriated. fandom and shit I can do without for a few days, but once they try to censor free speech it adds a whole new layer to their bullshit.

I made them last night - was going to post them on today's Shenanigans post, but at the rate LJ's being bombarded, I figured I'd jump at the opportunity now b/c who knows when I'd get another chance? ^^;;
