I recall recently seeing something along these lines happening in the UK too; a 'super-head' teacher who had gained an MBE for her services to education was also running a fraudulent school for nursing qualifications aimed at immigrants from the Caribbean. Why these particular people? And why nursing? It's so odd..
From what I heard a nursing degree is one of the most successful ones you can get if you want to find employment and economic mobility. That's what I've heard, at least.
"The students, who were all working-class people, a lot of them immigrants, saved up every penny they had in the world and spent their money on the school," said Jamie Andrew Schreck, an attorney for the students.
This makes me want to cry.
I really hope that the victims of this fraud receive some sort of compensation or reimbursement.
Reports of such schools are only going to increase because the numbers of these schools will increase as the job market stays shitty. It's absolutely ridiculous.
