House votes to halt gay unions on military bases

WASHINGTON - Intent on delaying a new policy allowing gays to serve openly in the armed forces, the House voted Friday to prohibit military chaplains from performing same-sex marriages on the nation's bases regardless of state law.

Support the troops, you assholes.

"I fear that chaplains who refuse to perform these ceremonies may find themselves under attack and their careers threatened."

So then write "no retaliation against chaplains" into the law instead of "no marriage for anybody." I mean, because I'm sure the chaplains are totally the main thing you're worried about.

So it's ok to cut social programs while people are starving to death but cutting defense while we're in a pointless war is a no.

Why does it seem like every time this country takes one positive step forward, we end up taking fifteen backwards?
