Since this seems to be mostly talking about her speech capability, would she be able to express herself better through writing? Or does that all come from the same area of the brain? *sucks at science*

Just based on what I've read, it seems like she has a hard time finding the words, rather than having a hard time actually speaking.

not if it hit broca's area, which is responsible for the production of all speech.

i usually have an easier time explaining this in terms of blind/deaf people. if someone deaf was hit in broca's area, they wouldn't be able to produce sign language anymore.

similarly interesting, if someone blind was hit in wernicke's area (which is responsible for language comprehension), they wouldn't be able to read braille anymore.

She looks fantastic (and so happy)! The more I read about her recovery, the more amazed I am.

Save for the bruising on her forehead. if you were to have shown me this photo without mentioning that the person in it had been shot pointblank in the face five months ago, I'd have never guessed.

I had to refresh myself where she was hit because it looked so minimal. The slightly sunken part of her skull is the only noticeable thing.

God I hate that this happened to her.

Yeah, aside from the slightly sunken portion of her skull and the small trachea scar there is nothing to physically suggest that she survived getting shot point blank only five months ago. Absolutely nothing at all; that and hearing the progress that she's made in that short five months is just absolutely amazing.
