A ballot measure to ban circumcision in San Francisco has taken a strange twist with the publication, by the measure’s sponsors, of a comic book in which an anti-circumcision superhero -- blond, buff and handsome -- battles evil Jewish characters who recall the stereotypical images of classic anti-Semitism.

I would say something, but I'm just too astounded by the stupidity of this on every level to be coherent.

I hate the argument that male circumcision = female circumcision. If it was, they'd be taking practically all the skin off the penis.

It may not be nearly as damaging, but it's equally barbaric and wrong.

Firstly, male circumcision isn't even close to being like so-called female circumcision rites. At all.

Also, the racist and anti-Semitic tones of the comic should have been seriously fucking obvious from the off. And seriously, I couldn't give a fuck that they weren't "trying to be anti-Semitic." The end result is that they have been, and they should take it on the chin and apologise to those who have been offended. The fact that Hess is hiding makes me think he's well aware of it too.

Would I be violating Godwin's Law if I pointed out how fitting that Matthew's last name is Hess?

You didn't explicitly say the N-word, so I think you're safe.
